Tuesday 10th September at the Lord Leycester Hospital
7.30 to 9.30
The proposed redevelopment of the King’s High School site is, for Warwick’s historic area, on a bigger scale than any since Market Street and Westgate House (where M&S and Boots shops are) were rebuilt in the 1960s. The proposal would, if approved, have as heavy a social and visual impact on the character of the eastern side of the town centre as that did on the western side.
The Warwick Society, which has been pursuing for nearly 70 years the preservation of Warwick’s fine old buildings and the highest standards for the development of new alongside them, is considering how to respond to this proposal.
Normally, such matters are dealt with by its committee, but this one is so important that we are holding a special meeting, and inviting everyone interested, not just the Society’s members.
